Walking with Aunt Erica and Cousin Will

Alexandra and I have enjoyed our frequent walks with her Aunt Erica and cousin Will. Today, the cousins were so cute that I couldn't resist posting these photos:

Isn't Will adorable in his sunglasses and Sasha in her hat?!!

Car woes continue

Yesterday, we went out to Christopher's car, in the rain, to go to 5pm mass (our last chance to make it to mass that day). We couldn't take my car due to the busted window (see previous post). After we were all loaded into the car, we discovered that it wouldn't start, due something near the battery being coroaded. Fortunately, William came to the rescue and drove Alexandra and I back home, as Christopher's car was parked in the far lot. Sadly, everyone missed seeing Alexandra in her cute peach dress from her Aunt Erica. I am posting the above photo of baby Sasha in said cute dress for everyone to enjoy.

Foxstone Park

Over the weekend, we spent some time with Christopher's parents (Grandee and Granddad to Alexandra). We had a lot of fun during our walk to Foxstone Park, which is, incidentally, where the spy Robert Hansen was caught. Christopher used to play here as a kid and joked with other kids that there were Russian spies in the park. He was right!

Unfortunately, Alexandra spent most of the walk asleep and missed out on all of the history of the park.

Car Vandalism

So, I thought that by putting a "baby on board" sign in my car window that people would be polite to me on the road and that my car would be safe. Come on, who would be mean to a baby or a car that carries a baby? I was apparently wrong. I arrived at my car in our complex's parking lot this last Friday to discover that my car had been vandalized. Fortunately, the hooligan who did this didn't steal Alexandra's car seat base or stroller.

Mean people suck!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

As new parents without huge chunks of free time on our hands, Christopher and I value finding entertainment that you can watch in short doses. I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to the most hilarious thing I have seen on the internet recently. It stars Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion and was allegedly created during the writers' strike to prove that you could indeed make money on the internet.

For a laugh, check out:

Sometimes it also appears for free or on www.youtube.com.

Selsun Blue

So, last week we showed our pediatrian what we thought was "baby acne," on Alexandra's face, and it turns out that it's not "acne" at all. Apparently, it's actually some fungal rash that most babies get, and the cure for it is washing her hair with Selsun Blue shampoo! We've washed her hair about three times now with the stuff, and the rash is almost totally gone.

Who would have known! I thought I'd pass on this tip to anyone who's baby might have "baby acne," as simply washing his/her hair with a new shampoo can't hurt :)

Photos from Alexandra's first six weeks!

Sleepytime fun (when the hat doesn't slip over her eyes, that is!)

Our little bunny.
Action shot! (she bats at some of her toys with both hands now and kicks at them as well)

Bathtime fun (now that baths are actually okay).
Family photo at Christopher's installation as Grand Knight for the Blessed Sacrament Knights of Columbus Council.
