No footsies!

This last week, Alexandra has hated to wear pajamas with feet ("footsies"). We thought she just hated the outfits that she was getting too long for, but it turns out that ALL footsies upset her. We think she likes to have her feet free to kick and move around. So, it's nightgowns and sleepsacks for Alexandra. Too bad it took a nighttime meltdown for her silly parents to figure this out. :)

Star of the Ocean

So, my sister Emily is currently doing an internship at Mote Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida (http://www.mote.org/). She loves it! To share her love of the ocean with Alexandra, she gave her this adorable t-shirt (shes' our little Star of the Ocean) and a stuffed shark.

Can you believe my not-even-three-month-old is wearing a size SIX MONTH T-shirt!! That's what you get with tall parents :)

The shark is the first toy that Alexandra grabbed and put in her mouth - meaning either that she loves sharks or hates/wants to eat them. Either way, Emily is excited that her neice has a passion for sharks!

Hair Fashion

Alexandra loves to sit on my bed watching me dry my hair. Skeptics out there will say that it's because babies like the white noise of a hair dryer. However, I tell Alexandra that she likes it because, already and at such a young age, she has an appreciation for hair fashion. To prove it, here are some adorable shots of her modeling her very own first hair fashion statement.

SEGs in the City

While my family was in town, Grandee babysat Alexandra so that Christopher and I could go with Mom, Dad, Andy, Sandi, Emily and Joey on a segway tour of DC! We had a blast, seeing the National Mall, Capital, and White House from our segway scooters. Dad had the only bad crash of the day. A good time was had by all!

Fun with Grandee and Will

I'm home today with baby and sick hubby (who is getting over a really bad cold) and am sneaking in blogging time while they are both napping. I wanted to share some more of our really cute baptism reception photos. William gets the photography credit for these.

Here is Grandee with both of her grandchildren. She's been wanting a photo like this since before they were born! I love the adorable way that Alexandra is looking up at her grandmother.

Smiling baby

Although my baby smiles all the time now (and coos and other adorable things), it's so hard to capture it on film. Probably because I'm too occupied smiling and cooing back to grab the camera! Anyway, thought I'd post this photo, since Christopher was able to capture her beautiful smile last week.

Also, I've discovered that it's easier to do tummy time in her crib, as I don't have to worry about the cats and it's easier on my back. Here's an action shot!

Alexandra's Baptism

This last Saturday, we welcomed Alexandra Marie into the Church by baptism. Most of my family (minus brother Mike) was able to come out for the occassion. We also had cousins Rachel and Sol, Christopher's immediate family (including Will!) and his cousin Frank's family. Alexandra was a perfect little angel - she didn't cry at all - - even when the water was being poured over her head!

It was even more special for us that Fr. Jaffe, the priest who married us (and has since moved to another parish) was able to come back to our church to baptize Alexandra.

My sister, Emily (Alexandra's "Auntie Em") and Christopher's cousin, Frank, are her godparents. Our good friend, Laura, MADE the beautiful baptismal gown that Alexandra is wearing. It was a wonderful day, and we are grateful to all of our friends and family for their love and support of Alexandra!
