So I cut my hair. . . .

Because I'd been pulling it back since Alexandra was born, she pulls it constantly, and it's all been falling out (a fun post-pardum perk).

I like my new look, though!

National Harbor

Last weekend, we checked out National Harbor, a new, fun DC area (I must admit, I didn't know that National Harbor existed and only found out about it because of my super-hip husband who is always up to date on this sort of thing). Lean more about it at www.nationalharbor.com.

Since I eventually have to go back to work, we have been working to train Alexandra to take a bottle. She will not take one from me, so it has turned into a great daddy-daughter bonding experience. Christopher is becoming a pro at giving her a bottle on the go, and isn't threatened by all the pink :)

Two Month Pediatrician Appointment

Alexandra is two months old today. Hooray! This meant that we took her to the pediatrician today for a check-up and five shots (well, four were given as shots and one orally). Here are her stats:

height - 23 1/4" (75th percentile)
weight - 11lbs 15oz (75th percentile)
head - 15.5" (75th percentile)

At her two week check-up, she was in the 50th percentile all-around, so she has definitely grown a lot in the last six weeks!!

She's a little tired and fussy from the shots, but hopefully with lots of love from her parents (and baby Tylenol), she'll be back to normal by tomorrow.

Toby and the Television

Over the last couple of days, something strange has happened. One of our cats, Toby, has started watching television. In the 2.5 years that I have had Toby and Socks, neither one of them has ever shown any interest at all in the television. However, I guess since Christopher and I have had it on more than normal (what with the Olympics and all), Toby has discovered it. Now, when the TV is on, he looks straight at it, with a glazed expression.

Are we bad pet owners for having introduced our cat to the TV?!?! Fortunately, unlike Alexandra (who is not supposed to watch TV until she is 2, says the pediatrician), Toby is over 2 years old and can watch television without the risk of developing autism. But, as Christopher points out, we wouldn't know the difference if our cat was autistic or not.

Car update

Both the cars are back and in working order. Yeay!! I will never take the cars starting and having all of their windows in-tact again!

Musical baby?

I have been able to play the piano for Alexandra a little bit these last couple of days - finally! I've been wanting to play for her for weeks! She's not usually happy when I'm not holding her, and hated her swing at first. . . .BUT, she was very happy in it listening to me play. She also enjoyed sitting in her car seat and hearing me play yesterday. Will she go on to be a music major like her Uncle Joey? Time will tell. . . .

Walking with Aunt Erica and Cousin Will

Alexandra and I have enjoyed our frequent walks with her Aunt Erica and cousin Will. Today, the cousins were so cute that I couldn't resist posting these photos:

Isn't Will adorable in his sunglasses and Sasha in her hat?!!
