"Mama!"

Alexandra started "talking" over the weekend. She has been saying, "mamama," and "wawawawa," "babababa," and "lalalala." I got super excited over the "mamamama," but was convinced that she didn't know that I am "mama." Christopher said, "she says "ma" when she's hurt, she knows that you're "mama"." But I was still skeptical.

Today, while I was washing dishes, she pulled up to standing on my legs and, very deliberately, said "Mama!" I immediately turned off the water and put down the bib I was cleaning to pay attention to her. "What?!? Alexandra, what did you say!?!"

"Mama!"

I nearly cried. She repeated it again when I was giving her a bath, as she tried to climb out of the bath to me.

"She'd better start saying "dada" soon," is all Christopher had to say :)

  1. That's great! I'm still in the skeptical phase. I don't think Evan has been intentionally saying anything yet. However, he's all about the dadadadada, I don't think mama will be his first word.
